Advisory
AI adoption, from first assessment to working practice.
For organizations that want AI to deliver, and need to know where to start, what will change, and how to govern it. We work in person across Southwest Florida and remotely with clients anywhere.
Why
Why an outside view
Most AI projects fail for reasons that have nothing to do with the model: no clear owner, no measure of success, no plan for the people whose work changes, and no record that would satisfy a board, an auditor or a regulator. Those are the same reasons large transformation programs fail. We have spent fifteen years on those programs with global banks, and we bring that discipline to AI adoption at any size.
Three offers
Assessment, transformation, governance
-
AI readiness assessment
- What it answers
- where you stand today, and what is worth doing first.
- What we look at
- the use cases people are already trying; the data those use cases would need and where it lives; the skills in the team; the controls you already have for confidentiality, accuracy and approval; and the obligations that apply to you (contracts, regulators, insurers).
- How it runs
- a short, focused engagement, scoped with you before it starts: a questionnaire, working sessions with the people who do the work, and a review of the documents you already have.
- What you receive
- a written assessment that ranks your use cases by value and difficulty, names the gaps that would stop each one, and ends with a direct answer on what to do first and what to leave alone; and a short presentation of it to your leadership.
-
Transformation
- What it answers
- how a chosen use case becomes a working process that people actually use.
- What we do
- define the target operating model for the process (who does what, where the AI sits, where a person decides); design the pilot with a named owner, a measure of success and an exit rule; run the pilot with your team; and plan the step from pilot to wider use, including the training and the change in roles.
- What you receive
- the operating model, the pilot plan and its results, and a rollout plan your own people can run.
-
Strategy and governance
- What it answers
- where AI fits your strategy, what the business case is, and how you show that it is under control.
- What we do
- an AI strategy that names the two or three areas worth investing in, with a business case for each; a governance structure sized to you (policy, decision rights, review points, a register of what is in use); and a mapping of that structure to published frameworks, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, so an auditor or insurer can follow it.
- What you receive
- the strategy and business case, the governance pack, and the framework mapping. We provide evidence and advice.
Approach
The way we design AI work
The principles that shaped Agile Dev Team apply to any process where AI does part of the work.
- Agile where it fits. Small steps, a prioritised list and a review at the end of each step, so you see value early and can change direction cheaply.
- The whole lifecycle in view. From requirements to design, build, test, release and change, so nothing is left until the end.
- The right tool for each task. People, plain software and AI each do what they do best; a stronger model only where judgement is needed. That keeps cost and delay down.
- A budget before the work starts. Cost, time and effort are estimated up front, with limits and review points so a pilot cannot run away.
- Checks that do not depend on the AI. Where the output matters, a program or a person checks it. AI output is never its own proof.
Current practice in designing AI agent workflows points the same way: specialised roles, written hand-offs, human decisions at the key points, and checks outside the model.
Method
How we work
- Plain language. Every document is written for the people who will use it, not for consultants.
- Facts over claims. We measure before and after, and we write down what did not work as well as what did.
- You own it. Every engagement ends with your team running the result without us.
- Scoped before we start. Every engagement begins with a conversation and a written scope, so you know what you will receive before any work begins.
